The second exhibit of Dr. Ozin’s media collaboration project with artist Todd Siler is about to open at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Sep 6 – Dec 20, 2014. Entitled Metaphorming Nature: Connecting Human/Nature’s Creative Potential, the project looks at the ways we make of nature and what we make of nature.

Geoff’s latest MaterialsViews NanoChannel essay addresses the question “Is Photocatalysis Photochemical or Thermochemical? and the implications of that question to materials development for solar energy conversion.

Fine Arts New York was held at The Armory Show, Pier 94, in New York,
March 2014 and the next show is at the Colorado University Art Museum
in the Fall

Geoff’s latest MaterialsViews NanoChannel essay has been posted online. The essay deals with the difficulties of dealing with adventitious carbon contamination in analyzing the products of photocatalytic CO2 reduction.

Congratulations to group alumnus Dr. Moises Carreon on being recognized for his scientific accomplishments. Moises was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The award is the highest honor for scientists in the early stages of their independent careers. Dr. Carreon completed a post-doctoral fellowship in our group in 2005. Congratulations!

Dr. Ozin recently visited the University of Bath in the UK where he delivered a public lecture on solar fuels research title “Artificial Photosynthesis: Solar Fuels from the Sun, not Fossil Fuels from the Earth”
